If God Called You, You Can!
Jesus asked Peter, “Who do you say that I am?” And he waited on Peter to respond. I believe that Peter’s response would determine what he would receive and how Jesus would respond. If those you serve DON’T see you as “The Lord’s Anointed”, love them, but guard your investment. There are some people that are just waiting on you to be to them who God sent you to be. Be aware that YOU ARE NOT SENT TO EVERYONE. Be okay with that. You must value “YOU”. Jesus asked the question and he got feedback, but he NEVER TRIED TO PROVE who he was. When you try to prove who you are, it is a sign of immaturity and insecurity. When you KNOW who you are, you hear their feed back and understand that they will never receive beyond their perception of you. In the season that THEY DON’T KNOW preach with consistency because seasons change.
When the seasons change, let them find you THE SAME. In ministry, you can’t choose your pain. You take what He allows. The most precious lesson is to VALUE who and what values you. Value LOYALTY and understand that everyone doesn’t have the capacity to walk your journey. You will build relationships along life’s way that will NOT be based on your performance, but based on WHO you are. What you do is the smallest part of who you are; but the person that you are is who God develops to slay giants. You will suffer/take some hits. Ministry (especially pastoring) is not for the faint of heart. David said in Psalms 119:71, “It was good for me that I have been afflicted; that I might learn thy statutes.” Good study habits don’t give you your message. Many times your message is developed in the fiery trials of life. I heard Bishop Jakes say once, “You have to do your own bleeding. Nobody else can bleed for you.” God will give you grace to preach through it. No doubt, my best messages were preached during my darkest moments. God never lets anything leave your life that’s necessary for your future.
The trouble that you go through is only credentials, so that your faith will have a monument when the dust settles. Whenever you’re out front, you are the biggest target. You’re shot at by everyone…those within and without. It makes your job lonely at times, but worth it ALL THE TIME. The things that helps you preach anyway and keep moving and keep loving people is the fact that GOD CALLED YOU. Never give up. Opinions are like ears. Everyone has them. Your ministry and destiny doesn’t rest in the opinions of men, but in the one who called you. The one who called you is FAITHFUL. You’re approaching your greatest moment. Get back in the fight. Your next victory will astound your enemy!!!!!
